About Coach Briggs C.P.T. '03
Coach Briggs has over 17 years of experience as a coach and 8 years as the head jumps coach at Mater Dei High School. Briggs is also the owner/creator of the LEAP Squad Youth Track Club. Briggs competed over three years as a professional triple jumper and has been sharing is training tips and concepts over the past 10 years teaching coaches how to improve their skill set on YouTube where he has over 20,000 followers across all platforms. In his tenure as a high school and club coach Briggs has developed 11 Orange County Individual Champions, 7 Individual CIF Champions, 10 CIF Runner-up finishers, 7 CA State qualifiers, 11 National qualifiers, and over 30 athletes continuing their track and field career in college.

SUMMER TRAINING
(July-August)
Summer training is to start your next season off right by maintaining your level of fitness. This is the only time for college athletes to fine tune their jump technique.
Workouts look like a boot camp for kids. Little to no running. Cross-training and body weight movement.
There will be no event training for youth and high school age athletes.
FALL / WINTER SEASON
(September-February)
A 5-month commitment designed for the complete development of the athlete's base level fitness and technique training for the winter season.
Fall conditioning will consist of cardiovascular development, then progression to event introduction, then to specific event training and conditioning.
In the winter we will be competing in 4-5 "all-comer" track meets. "All-comers" literally means exactly what it is, a meet for all who come. By the end of this 5-month cycle each athlete will be physically and mentally ready for a successful Spring and Summer season.
SPRING / SUMMER POST-SEASON
(March-July)
Spring season is for youth age athletes who will compete in age division competition.
Summer season is for both youth and high schoolers. Athletes will continue to compete in age division competition.
Summer season is also our major travel season.

6:30PM - 8PM
